Pakistan hit by floods August 5th 2013 - 68 people dead and 66k affected

Pakistan Floods leave 68 dead and 66k affected Monsoon rain and floods have killed at least 58 people across Pakistan and affected tens of thousands of others, officials said Monday, warning of more rain to come [Source: AFP].

Flooding has killed about 68 people. Over 66,000 people have directly been affected by the floods. Flash floods following monsoon rain paralysed parts of the largest city Karachi at the weekend.

In Jhal Magsi, one of the worst-affected areas, 27 villages have been overwhelmed, forcing thousands of people to flee to shelter on higher ground in deserted mountainous areas.

- £55 for food for one family for one month which includes rice, flavour, sugar, Tea, cooking oil

- £150 for shelter tent and blankets and other household items for one family to stay in camps

- £1000 for one free medical camp which will serve 1,000 patients

LIVE Telethon on Ramadan TV channel 192 Aug 5th



We are doing a LIVE Telethon on Ramadan TV channel 192 with Tommy Evans & Ikhlaq to raise money for 40 Eye Camps in four countries with 10 in each of the following countries: Pakistan, Palestine, Bangladesh and Somalia. 

One Eye Camp costs £1000 where 28 cataract surgeries can be performed.

You can share in an Eye Camp for £500 (14 cataract surgeries) or £350 (10 cataract surgeries) or £175 (5 cataract surgeries) or £105 (3 cataract surgeries)

We aim to raise funds to undertake 1120 cataract surgeries overall

We also need 4 slit lamps urgently for these four countries. Each slit lamp costs £4000.

Live Telethon on ARY/QTV and Bangla TV 1st Aug

Dear all, we are doing live telethon on both ARY/QTV Sky Channel 804 with Najam Sheraz from 9.30pm to 1.30am to raise funds for Cataract Surgery. Our second telethon is on Bangla TV Sky Channel 786 from 5pm to 4am where we aim to raise funds Orphan Girls Hafiz Sponsorships in Iraq, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Gaza and Somalia. Make sure you tune!
